Whenever someone asks me what I am up nowadays it even astonishes me when I can say I am a student athlete at an american college and it is all because of the NSR that I am in this position. When I received that letter that it was possible for me to receive a scholarship and a place at an American college I thought it was too good of an opportunity to miss. At the trial I wasn't sure what to expect but I gave it my best and before I knew it I had passed the trial, completed and was officially a recruit of the NSR.
The service that NSR provides is of the highest quality and it is almost impossible for American colleges not to be impressed and interested in you to be a student at their college. Once they gather the information that they need, they immediately create a personal website in there prospect database and begin sending emails off to college coaches. Without much work to be done on your part, you'll be receiving emails from interested coaches and well on your way to becoming a member of their team. The well organized and efficient scouting service that the NSR provides just proves that the quality of the NSR is brilliant. Throughout the whole process the NSR constantly give you information in which to be successfully recruited by a coach in America. This includes the best way to interact with the coach, the information the coach will most likely need and many reminders and tips to approach the steps involved. Whenever you have difficulty or an issue with a certain aspect with what needs to be done you can easily just email the extremely helpful staff at the NSR and they'll will reply with solutions that will solve your problem.
The process that I had to undergo to become a student athlete included the trial and interview done by the NSR, completing the information package sent by the NSR so they could set up my website, completing the SAT, interaction and completing forms sent by the coach and college, going to the US embassy/consultant to receive to student visa, final forms sent by the college and finally booking flights.
Numerous college coaches told me they were interesting in me going to their college but I eventually chose to go to Waldorf College in Iowa which is a division 1 team in the NAIA competition. I can't wait to begin my time at college and start playing soccer. But this opportunity would not have been possible without the NSR and I will be forever grateful for them making it possible to attend an American college playing a sport I love.

Our son Fraser has been hooked on soccer since he first started to walk and would spend every day playing if he had the opportunity. This opportunity is available only to a lucky few in Australia as the school sporting system does not foster sport to the extent seen in other countries. So when he progressed through and was accepted into the NSR system in 2009 we were not only proud of him but also could see that he now had the opportunity to live the life of his dreams – to get his education as well as play soccer at an intense and high level.
As a lone player we would never have been able to source the contacts that were provided by NSR to assist Fraser in finding a college with the right fit for both his educational and sporting aspirations. Throughout the whole process the NSR staff were always ready and eager to solve any problems, provide information and help us along the way. Fraser had contact with about 20 college coaches and eventually chose Grandview University in Iowa.
Being from Australia, I don’t feel the process is as easy as it is for American athletes as phone calls are made at about 2am in the morning and if the student is still at school this can cause problems. Also coaches are not as prepared to offer full scholarships in the first year based on one video, however they have all said any scholarship has the ability to get larger in subsequent years if the student proves his value.
Overall, I am very happy with the service provided by NSR, although a little tired from keeping track of everything that needs to be done. In a nutshell getting accepted is only the beginning. If you are prepared to work alongside the NSR staff they will get you in the door, but getting the offer is your responsibility. If you don’t want to put in the effort then you shouldn’t expect the outcome. Fraser leaves in July 2010 to a new country, a new life and the chance to play soccer regularly – what more could he ask for?

The process was very simple after a football trial and an interview, we were supported the whole way and all the information provided was very helpful. Communication was very clear from the NSR team. Which were all very exciting and no effort at all. Then from there they guided and helped me through the process of everything. When I was chosen to be a student prospect through NSR, I didnt know what to feel, I was nervous, excited, just full of mixed emotions. There was no time to lose. Straight away I had to create a player profile of myself - get photos, gather report cards, letters from coaches, teachers, family friends, you name it. It was a process that covered many months of work. It took a lot of effort, but with the help of the NSR team, it became so much easier. They were there when questions needed answering, when things got a little too much. I was hit with sometimes 20 emails a day, all which had to be replied to. As the months went on we got down to the crucial stage.. choosing which college best suited me, talking to the coaches, applying for an international visa, filling in all the paperwork that came along with these tasks. The guys from NSR replied to all our calls and emails promptly.. they were on top of it. Without their help it would have been a mess. The NSR program provided both my family and I with not only on going support but a greater piece of mind. They were always there to lend a helping hand, give you a little push or friendly reminders and/or decipher those… well sometimes confusing tasks that were given by college coaches.
After receiving the letter producing this opportunity, they got straight into it. First came the trials, then came the laid back interview and finally the filming. NSR worked around you when it came to the time to be filmed, you picked the time and venue and they showed up, as easy as that. Soon all of a sudden, after some paper work, the emails started to come. Coaches from all of the States got in contact with me nearly immediately. It seems like an eternity ago ………..early in 2009 my son Clay trialed in WA for the opportunity to make it on to the NSR books. He was rewarded with an acceptance and from then on a whirlwind of videoing, emailing , gathering of information took over our busy lives. Clay was still preparing for year 12 TEE exams on top of training most nights with the NTC and also with the Trinity College school team…….needless to say he was a very busy boy as were his parents. Once all the preparation was done we forwarded all the required information to NSR who they were able to have a web site for Clay produced , then the games really started. NSR was able to introduce Clay to numerous college coach’s and after lots of discussions and research and late nights we finally decided on a NAIA program at Auburn Montgomery College in Alabama under an astute and well credentialed coach called Wulf Koch….. (true name).
We have never been to the USA so have decided to accompany Clay over and help him get settled in and have a short holiday as well. College commences August 2010. NSR were instrumental in getting Clay this wonderful scholarship which will cost us about $8k in the first year (apart from air fares) that is fantastic as it includes everything……….he eats more than that amount at home so we are miles in front! Clay is very excited , nervous and all the other things that are associated with leaving home and moving to another country. "NSR soccer Australia strives to help all athletes accomplish their goal in making it into a US college. NSR is a very professional organisation and said that many colleges would be interested in me and as soon as NSR sent letters out to colleges I got over 40 responses. The quality of NSR service is was great, I didn’t have any contacts with US colleges before I went to NSR. But as soon as I became involved in NSR colleges wanted to talk to me because of how professionals NSR services are.  NSR sends a professional photographer to come film your game and make a film for you to send to all the colleges. Also they set up a great website for me with all your vital information that the colleges need.
The process that was involved to be able to apply for college was firstly, a very intense try out with a lot of possession and game play. Next you went for an interview where you had to bring all your school grades in for NSR to check out and see if you have a good enough GPA to be able to attend college.  If you were successful in both the try out and the interview you were now eligible you go to college. NSR assisted with a lot of the work when talking to the colleges, they would send emails to all the colleges and also come in contact with many coaches to tell them about you. NSR also helps a lot when speaking to the colleges by email and also on the phone. They told me what kind of things to talk to the coaches about and if I had any problems they would help solve it.

Over the last year, NSR has been diligently promoting and helping me to acquire the best scholarship offer from various Universities in the USA. Without the assistance of NSR I will not have been able to achieve goals that are only possible in my dreams. "The opportunity to study internationally and advance my soccer skills has come to life through the NSR Soccer Australia program. It’s fair to say this would never have happened if I had tried to do it on my own. After my website went live and I started receiving enquiries from coaches in the US it was great to have the NSR team to lean on for advice. At this time it was all a bit crazy and sometimes hard to keep a cool head and stay focused on the ultimate goal. That is to make the best decision about which college to commit to.
That’s not easy when there are so many choices and you can’t just pop over to check them all out in person. When we finally chose a college there was still the student visa and embassy interview to be done and again NSR were on hand for advice and guidance.

In my case, I decided on a small NAIA private college in Mississippi and who have been very successful in the last couple of years. This particular college operates a trimester system so I started my studies in the Spring (February - May). The classes are small and the teaching staff are caring and helpful. The women’s soccer team is huge and to get game time in the Fall (August) I will have to be super fit and really on my game. It’s a very competitive environment and this is pushing me to become a much better athlete. It’s been great to have a couple of other internationals in the
team but really everyone has been great. I’ve done some traveling already with the team and have seen a few new places in the US which is another wonderful
part of the experience.  I’m home now for the summer holidays and am looking forward to returning soon and playing soccer at a level much higher than I imagined.
